Configuration Summary

Sapphire contains 4,096 compute nodes. Each node contains a 2.6‑GHz Opteron 64‑bit dual‑core processor and dedicated memory. The nodes are connected to each other in a three‑dimensional torus using a HyperTransport link to a dedicated Cray SeaStar communications engine that provides high‑bandwidth, high‑performance interconnects. Sapphire is rated at 42.6 TFLOPS and contains 374 TBytes of Fibre Channel RAID disk storage.
